The RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM lens is a highly powerful and portable lens for advanced amateurs and professionals shooting sports, wildlife, photo journalism, aviation subjects and more. The focal length range reaches up to 500mm, 100mm more than the existing EF counterpart and can go further with optional 1.4x and 2 extenders . At 1530g with tripod mount, and 207mm when retracted, the RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM is great mobile telephoto option to have.

The large diameter mount and short back focus of the RF lens significantly increases the degree of freedom in lens design compared to conventional EF lenses, achieving excellent contrast and sharpness.
The RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM features a lens control ring for customisable control over shutter speed, ISO or exposure compensation. The easy-to-identify textured surface gives you tangible feedback to adjust while looking through the viewfinder and concentrating on your subject.

The IS mode switch on the lens also enables you to select the best mode for your shooting needs: IS mode 1 for still subjects, IS mode 2 for panning and IS mode 3 for irregular movement for optimal performance.
Enjoy rapid, accurate focusing thanks to a Nano USM motor that ensures smooth and quiet autofocus, so focusing appears seamless. Have clean transitions when moving between subjects or when focusing from the foreground to background, creating professional looking footage.
The RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM allows you to get closer than before with a minimum focusing distance of 0.9m at the 100mm end, allowing you to shoot subjects 8cm closer than its EF counterpart. Whether you're photographing birds, landscapes or a sporting event, the lens provides impressively sharp images.
